Time to announce the winner of the Give Away. Did it the old fashioned way, put all the names in a bowl and my husband drew the winner......Teresa Young of Fox Hollow Studio. She has a terrific blog, stop by and take a look.
Just finished this little journal. It is mostly just blank pages to write, doodle, sketch or what pleases you. The theme of the journal is to reflect on yourself.
I have listed the journal on my Etsy Shop.
We are expecting, rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow....in that order....tomorrow. I am so ready for Spring. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Little Travel Journal and "Give Away"
My sis and I often take little trips to go junk shopping.....we spend a good amount of time lost, thank goodness for the Garmin. We always make a travel journal before we leave to keep track of all our antics. They are a lot of fun to look back on. Here is one we made for a trip to Kansas City.
We used an old book cover for the front, then added various pages, some to write on, some with pockets to stick things in and some just for photos. The rings make it easier to put more stuff in the book. We always have lots of brochures, cards and even little mementos. The journals make the trip a little more special.
Now for that Give Away. I spent most of yesterday listing things on Etsy. I listed several needle books and decided I would give one away. I love to sew on cold Winter days. If you must stay in, do something you enjoy. I will also add a tag to the give away.
Just leave a comment, you don't have to be a follower, but it would be nice if you were. I would appreciate it if you would help me get the word out about the Give Away. You have until February 28, then I will put every one's name in the hat and pick a winner.
Here is what you will receive.

New Year and Life Goes On
The year of 2013 was a very difficult year for me. Selling our home, buying a new one and moving. Our oldest daughter battled Leukemia and finally lost her battle in January of this year. I did not blog much last year, just did not feel like it, so many ups and downs, stress, worry. Today is the first day I feel like beginning again. I have been creating things in the art room and would like to share a little.
I was published in the Winter issue of SEW Somerset.
My sis and I made Christmas Journals this year. I haven't added much too it but it is ready when I get the time. We both love Christmas so making the books was fun.
I have been working on this fabric memory book for a long time. Finally decided to get busy and finish it. The cover is not finished and I have a page to complete on the inside as well as some finish work on a couple of pages. I will be listing it in my Esty shop soon, along with several new Needle Books.
I have never had a giveaway on my blog....so in the next couple of days I will be posting one. Haven't decided yet what it will be, still working on that. Have a great day.

MID SUMMER
It has been an unusual summer here in St. Louis. Not much heat and lots of rain, all in all rather pleasant. I don't really like the middle of summer. I love the change of seasons and am getting tired of summer by now, looking forward to the Fall.
Our daughter is back in the hospital again, got another infection after having Chemo. Not as bad this time but still scary. I will be so glad when all this Chemo is over.
Wanted to share a piece I have been working on. It is one of my favorites. Most of the fabrics I used are old, as well as the embellishments.
I am going to be listing some new things on Etsy. Lots of Halloween. Everyone have a wonderful Friday.
Hugs, Jackie

NEW PLACE
Hi everyone it's good to be back. Life throws us some curves now and again and I've been on a pretty curvy road for a few months. Bought a house closer to our family in February and moved in March. During the move my husband had to have a pretty major surgery. All turned our fine, thank goodness. Shortly after that we found out our oldest daughter has Leukemia. She was in the hospital for a month for chemo. That went well, but after she went back for the second round of Chemo she developed a serious infection. She is doing okay now but is going back for the third round of chemo Monday. Then only one more after that hopefully. Prognosis is very good. Things are getting back to normal finally.
Mike had to make one of the bedrooms into an art room and that is ready to go. It is so nice to be creating again. Want to share a piece I just got finished.
Sorry the photo is not better, but I don't have the hanger on it yet. I am getting ready for two shows in October. Oktoberfest in Maeystown, IL and Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick, MO. If any of you are close to the St. Louis area, hope to see you there.

Hi All
It's that time of year...February, Yuk...that I really do not like. The middle of Winter is not my favorite time of year, but what you gonna do..trudge ahead and soon Spring will be here. I have been working on a wool applique table rug. Something a little different for me, the hand stitching is relaxing. My stitches are not real great, hope they get better as it progresses.
I want to share a few pages of the book I finished recently. Books are a lot of fun to make, this one is a gardening theme.
These are only a few of the pages. The book has 2 signatures of 8 pages each. I added a soldered piece at the bottom and it has ties for the closure. I will be listing this on Etsy this week.
Got to end for now, time to watch PBR Bull Riding. I love it, the bulls are so beautiful. I have my favorite riders, but must confess I am usually rooting for the bulls. I am an animal lover and the bulls are never mistreated. They are actually pampered. Have a happy Monday.
