Some of My Favorite Things

Now that the decorating is done I wanted to share some of my favorite things.  Our decorating is pretty traditional.   We designed and built our house ourselves.  We are on a lake so wanted something on the lines of a barn or lodge, so it does not lend it's self to cottage style.

I do love cottage style so this year I made a vignette in a glass house in all whites and silver.  The Eiffel Tower is a favorite of mine, so I made my take of Christmas in Paris.  I am linking this to White Wednesday at Faded Charm Cottage.

This is my favorite ornament on the tree.  I bought her at a flee market several years ago.  I think she is the most beautiful angel.

My daughter, sis and I always exchange ornaments at Thanksgiving, this year my sis made me this fantastic cone.

These are a few of my favorite things on the mantle.  My husband made the Santa for me for Christmas several years ago.  H sculpted the Santa, sewed the clothes and carved the rocking horse.  I think he is pretty talented.

Here is our tree with Santa beside it.  I think Santa was a store display, not sure.  Our grand daughter loves him.  Our little dog Cricket barked at him for awhile, but now just steers clear of him lol.

I am hard at work on Christmas gifts now, but wanted to share a little of our home with you all.  I love seeing all of yours.  Good night to all of your and happy Thursday.

Christmas in full swing

Christmas is in full swing, everyone shopping and decorating.  I love Christmas, finally got most of my decorating done.  I have been slowed down with Bronchitis but am finally feeling better.  Got a couple of things finished to list in my Etsy shop that I wanted to share with you.

I am starting my Christmas gifts now.  I decided to take the time to enjoy the season this year and forget the hustle bustle of shopping  .Most of my gifts will be homemade, except for the grand kids.    I felt I needed to get back to the roots of what Christmas was like when I was a child, so I am giving it a try.

We are having our Thanksgiving tomorrow,  I wanted to be well before everyone came down and our daughter and her family goes to her husband's mom's house on Thanksgiving.   All of you blogging friends have  a great rest of the week end.

Windyyyyyyyy

Hi All,  it is really windy here today and chilly as well.  Little white caps on the lake today.  It is a day to stay in and work in the studio.  We are picking up our grand daughter tomorrow to stay with us until Saturday.  I am looking forward to it.  She loves to " do art", so will be lots of fun.

I just finished  this last night and wanted to share it.  Old book, old fabric and old photo.  Can't go wrong with that.

I found this little pink coin purse in an antique shop and this is what I did with it.  The rosary beads are the handle so it can be hung up.

I am going to put both of these in my Etsy shop.

Last weekend was the annual Christmas walk here.   Sis and I always go.  We had gone to our favorite shop called Hunt and Gather, purchased some beautiful handmade ornaments and were off to the next shop....we thought.  As we crossed the street the sidewalk had a hump in it and I was gawking at a lovely store front, not paying attention...you can guess the rest of the story.  I fell face down onto the sidewalk.  No serious injuries, hit my head, cut the inside of my mouth and skinned up my nose and knee, but did not break either one.  How embarrassing is that?   Sis said I was flat on the ground with both arms out, ah but I did not break any of my new ornaments!  We did finish our shopping after a quick trip to the emergency room, so all was well.

New Booth

Hello everyone I wanted to share some photos of my sister and I's booth.  We are still working on some new things to put in it.  Hope to get some furniture painted to add to it.  Right now we are focusing on Christmas.

I just finished this .  I thought the picture of the two girls at the piano was so pretty.  I could imagine them playing in the parlor for their parents.

The weather here is very November like today.  I am enjoying it, love the change of seasons.  Looking forward to Thanksgiving, we always have the  tree up by then.  The birds are really hitting the feeders now...and the squirrels.  My husband put up a squirrel feeder for them and I filled it with corn, but they like the bird seed better I guess.

It's getting late so I am off to bed.  Hope everyone had a beautiful Sunday,

Hugs, Jackie
