Elegant hand

Hi all,  it has been a while since I posted anything.  I am working non stop to get ready for the Oktoberfest, had a birthday and several other things going on in my life, so just haven't had time.
I decided today I would take the time and get caught up on reading all the blogs I follow.  I was really missing you all.

I picked up this hand on sale, didn't know what I was going to do with it, but it appealed to me.  I covered the whole hand in lace then began to fill it with all kinds of things.  I liked it but thought it needed something, so I put it on a pedestal and added some fringe.  Looks elegant to me, what do you think, need anything else?

My Sis made me the most wonderful journal for my birthday,  I hope to get photos taken today so I can show you.  It is full of my childhood pictures and she left space for me to write the stories about each picture, just love it.  We are going back to our hometown in Iowa this fall.  There is a large flea market in What Cheer, IA (very close to our home town of Hedrick) so will spend the day there, then go to Hedrick and take some pictures.  We lost our parents when I was 21 and Deb was 10.  Hedrick is where all of our family lived but most have passed on now.  Really looking forward to returning for a visit.

Got to go and get back to work, everyone have a great day.  Nice to be back, missed  you all.

Hugs, Jackie

Beautiful Day

Hi all, It's been a while since I have posted.  It has been so hot, but today is really pretty here.  It was actually pleasant to sit on the deck and have my coffee....until a squirrel came bounding up on the deck and surprised my little dog Cricket.  She didn't know what to think they never come on the deck when she is out.  She loves to bark at them when she is inside but this was the first time she came face to face with one.  Finally the squirrel ran up the side of the house onto the roof, she just stood there and looked at the roof and did not make one sound....then she let loose and we had to come in just to make her stop barking.

I have been busy in the studio.  I am getting ready for the Okterberfest in Mayestown, IL.  It is in a small historic German town just a few miles across the river from St. Louis.  It is just beautiful there.  Lots of good German food, antiques and  arts and crafts.

My  daughter  and family is coming down this weekend to swim, looking forward to that.  Maggie starts school this year.  Can't believe she is old enough...they grow so fast.

Here are a couple of things I have finished up.

I love the color red and both of these projects show that.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
