Grandma's Garden

Happy Easter everyone.  It is a beautiful day here.  So many people out in their yards with the kids, hunting eggs and enjoying BBQ's.    Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Wanted to share Grandma's Flower Garden.  The photo is of my maternal Grandmother.  She was the greatest.  Taught me so many things.  She always had fun things to do.  At the time I did not think much about it but looking back they were little art projects.  Did anyone ever paint on glass and then crinkle aluminum foil behind it.  She did not have a frame for it so we put a piece of cardboard behind it and made a tape frame around it.  I thought it was beautiful.  She taught me to embroider, made paste from flour and water so many other things.

She had lots of flowers in her yard and one of the best times was Decoration Day, now called Memorial Day.  We cut lots of flowers from the yard, put them in fruit jars full of water and took them to the cemetery in remembrance of all who had passed.  Not a sad day but a happy one.  She told me stories of the relatives I did not remember.  So in honor of Grandma here is Grandma's Flower Garden.
