I was thrilled when my hubby came home from the mail box with the giveaway that I won from Queen Bes Altered Needs. It was all wrapped in lavender and pink tissue paper. The tiny frozen Charlotte is so cute. Thank you so much Carol. I can see many creations coming from these great gifts. If you haven't been to Carol's blog jump over and take a look. Lots of great creations.
I want to wish everyone a happy Easter. Hope it doesn't rain in your part of the country. We are suppose to get rain and sever storms for the next 5 days. The saying here is that if it rains on Easter Sunday it will rain 7 Sundays thereafter.
Looks like Hop a Long bunny is watching the little bunnies trying to hide one of his big purple eggs in my lace basket. Happy Easter!!
I finished that collage I was having so much trouble with, now on to something new! Vicki at http:www.vicki-2bagsfull.blogspot.com/ has a great giveaway. She makes the most beautiful nests and is giving one of them away.
I bought an old botany book that a girl had done in school, I wanted to make a collage using that book. I also wanted to use blue. Finally came up with this. I really like earthy colors so this was a challenge.
Yesterday was a beautiful 70 degrees, got up to 41 this morning. I sure will be glad when the weather gets itself straightened out! Good day to be in my studio. I have been working on a fabric collage all week. Really struggling with it, sometimes an idea that felt so right falls apart. I will finish it this weekend, I know I will, I know will.
Took some time out to make some fun stuff. Pretty Spring tag and a couple of dolls from lace. I think I will add a little more to the dolls. I saw the dolls in a Somerset magazine and just had to try some of my own. Lots of fun to make.
I am getting excited about the Kansas City trip. Staying close to the Plaza this time. All kinds of shopping. We are taking one day to go to Weston, MO. Lots of shops and antiques, should be lots of fun.
I want to thank everyone who visited my blog on the Alpha Stamps Blog Hop, it was so much fun visiting all the blogs. Then to top it all off I won a piece of that great ledger paper, I was so excited!
I have met so many new friends through this blog. I love visiting other blogs and seeing the beautiful art work, really keeps me inspired. Just finished this piece yesterday.
I found this picture of an old house with a woman and her children. Made me wonder why her husband was not in the picture. So many possibilities. The one that felt right to me was he was away looking for work and she was left at home to care for the children and the house. I had an old letter that my husband's uncle had written to his Dad when he was away picking cotton and missing home so I attached a piece of that. Then I added things that she would be doing at home, sewing, cooking and then a piece of jewelry at the top because women need to feel beautiful even in the toughest of times..
I love old and time worn things and that is what I portray in my art. Old fabrics are my passion and I am always on the hunt for them. I live with my husband and our little dog cricket in a suburb of St. Louis MO. I have two daughters and four beautiful grand daughters.
