Pond Finished

Hi everyone, wanted to share the garden and pond we have been working on for so long.  Hopefully I will be able to spend more time in the art room!

This is an old wash tub, I painted it blue and planted flowers in it.  I planted it for our oldest daughter.  We lost her to Leukemia in January, she loved flowers.  I call it Laurie's Garden.

I hate to admit it but my 50 year Class Reunion is coming up.  Going back to Iowa to see all my old classmates.  Hmm, maybe I should leave out the old part.  Anyway looking forward to it.  Also having a little family reunion at the same time.   Really looking forward to that.  It has been a while since we have all been together.  Have a happy Thursday!

Lucky Me

I feel so lucky to have won a give away from the lovely blog  A Little Bit French.  I wanted to share the beautiful altered bottle Rhonda created.  It came with an adorable little bracelet.  I just love it.

Had a busy weekend, celebrated my Sis's birthday and our grand daughters First Communion.  I quickly made a couple of tags to go with the gifts.  I think they turned out pretty good for as little time as I had.

I made my  Sis a piece of jewelry from an old brass drawer pull and a brass thimble, added bits of vintage jewelry, beads and a couple of charms.  I was pleased with the result..so was she.

Have a beautiful day.

Grandma's Garden

Happy Easter everyone.  It is a beautiful day here.  So many people out in their yards with the kids, hunting eggs and enjoying BBQ's.    Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Wanted to share Grandma's Flower Garden.  The photo is of my maternal Grandmother.  She was the greatest.  Taught me so many things.  She always had fun things to do.  At the time I did not think much about it but looking back they were little art projects.  Did anyone ever paint on glass and then crinkle aluminum foil behind it.  She did not have a frame for it so we put a piece of cardboard behind it and made a tape frame around it.  I thought it was beautiful.  She taught me to embroider, made paste from flour and water so many other things.

She had lots of flowers in her yard and one of the best times was Decoration Day, now called Memorial Day.  We cut lots of flowers from the yard, put them in fruit jars full of water and took them to the cemetery in remembrance of all who had passed.  Not a sad day but a happy one.  She told me stories of the relatives I did not remember.  So in honor of Grandma here is Grandma's Flower Garden.

Little Book

Has Spring really gotten here??  Hope so, it is so pretty today, little cool but nice to sit in the swing in the sun.  Mike is starting to plan for my new garden and the small water feature.  I am so excited.

I made this little book sometime ago and  shared photos then.  I have decided to list the book on Etsy so I am going to post the pictures again.   I love the book, one of my favorites.

I didn't put photos of every page in the book, so there are still some surprises to be found.
Gardening is such a joy for me, so I really enjoyed making this book.  Happy Spring!!!

Pins from Scraps

Decided to break away from some of the larger projects and make  pins from some of my scraps.  This is what I came up with.

I am going to be listing them on Etsy.

Finally April is right around the corner.  Lots of  great art show, flea markets and antique shows coming.  I am ready to get out side again.  Since we are in a new house Mike is going to help me make a new flower bed with a small water feature.  Come oooonnnnnn Spring.

Finally Finished

Good morning all, it is a beautiful day here in St. Louis.  Maybe Spring is really on the way.  I finally finished the fabric memory book I have been working on forever.  I want to share it with you.  Lots of pictures.  I decided to create a book of women from years past through 1950.  It has lots of old lace and lots of goodies.  I have created handmade journals and notebooks.  The book has lots of pockets and places to keep things.  I really enjoyed making the book.  I would think okay it is finished and then saw more I could add, guess that is why it took me so long.  I will be listing this on Etsy.

I want to thank all my new followers.  Hope you all have a great day, I am going to get a cup of coffee and go outside and enjoy a bit of this beautiful day.

Hugs, Jackie
